My Story : Embark on A Digital Journey Escaping From the 9-5 to Online Success

When I first dared to venture online it was back in January of 2014. A typical day in the life of your average Barbadian citizen looking for a better way of existence for both himself and his wife.  I did not come online at an inviattion. I would describe it as totally by accident.

I had been employed in the government civil service as what is called in these parts of the world a supreme court marshal. I did not set out initially to have that job but it has been a blessing up to this point and I cherished the opportunity to further myself.

After all, this was a government job. Not only did it pay well and offered me free time to look into other ventures, it also gave me the opportunity to hone skills I was not yet aware I even possessed, presenting me as a model to society.

My Story: From Courthouse to Connection-First Marketing

For 11 years, I wore a different uniform and served a different kind of justice.

As a Supreme Court Marshal, I spent my days in courtrooms, serving legal process, and yes – sometimes conducting arrests when people defaulted on court payments. It was steady work, government benefits, and what most people would call “security.”

But every day I stayed in that job, I felt like I was betraying a bigger calling.

While my colleagues talked about retirement plans and pension benefits, I was secretly studying digital marketing. While they watched TV after work, I was learning about email systems, customer psychology, and relationship building.

I had discovered something that set my soul on fire: the power of authentic connection in business.

But I was trapped between two worlds – the secure government job that paid the bills, and the entrepreneurial dreams that kept me awake at night.

The Day Everything Changed

The moment I became eligible for early retirement, I knew what I had to do.

I walked away from the steady paycheck, the government benefits, and the “safe” path that everyone expected me to follow.

Because I realized something important: The biggest risk isn’t taking a chance on your dreams. The biggest risk is never taking that chance at all.

For 11 years online, I’ve been studying, learning, testing, and yes – sometimes getting paralyzed by perfectionism. I fell into the trap that catches so many of us: believing I needed to learn “just one more thing” before I was ready to step fully into my purpose.

But here’s what I’ve learned:

 You don’t need to be perfect to make a difference.

You just need to be genuine.
