How to Make Your First Dollar Online in 24 Hours (Even If You Think You Have Nothing to Offer)
In this post you are going to learn of the $100 first-day challenge. You will also be treated to my unique story and challenges which I believe may also be part of your story.
Through this unique approach to a problem plauging most in the online world and in life will finally see you bursting out of that prison and onto being the best you can be.
,
Introduction – My Story
THIS COULD BE YOUR REALITY. BELIEVE IT, CLAIM IT.
I’m going to be brutally honest with you.
When I first came online many moons ago, I had a specific goal in mind: I wanted to become debt-free.
I can almost say with certainty that it was—and still is perhaps—the same dream that is also yours today.
- To be debt-free
- To have a life of fulfillment and abundance
- A life set and conducted on our own terms
I mean, that’s what we all want, right? Don’t you?
But while we believe it to be possible, not all of us quite know how to make it happen. To bring it into reality.
So I decided it was time to do something about it.
The Wall I Hit (And Maybe You’re Hitting It Too)
Here’s what nobody tells you about starting an online business:
The strategies aren’t the problem. Your inability to commit to ONE strategy is.
I started my journey with the belief that dreams can become reality once we are prepared to take action. And take action I did.
But sometimes our dreams take time. And in the process, we get anxious.
So we begin to look at other options. We leave the prescribed destination.
Big mistake. And costly too.
You see, for me personally, I felt like I had hit a wall. I had courses I’d never finished. Programs I’d started with excitement and abandoned three weeks later. Each time thinking, “Maybe THIS is the one that will work.”
But here’s what I finally learned:
We ought to FOLLOW ONE COURSE UNTIL SUCCESSFUL. And not hop all over the place. F.O.C.U.S
My Lightbulb Moment (That Changes Everything)
I knew what was needed.
And so, I sought help. I found a guide. Someone to help me navigate this myriad called digital marketing.
Yup, someone who already had what I wanted and could show me the way to achieve my objective.
That was my lightbulb moment and subsequently my plan of action going forward.
I had heard of a guy who had been quietly making waves. There was something about him and his methodology.
He was open, transparent, and didn’t hold anything back.
But I was conflicted. I wanted to do this, yet something was holding me back.
Does this happen to you as well? Was it fear?
I reached out to him, the guide. We had a great conversation. I decided I had no choice and took the plunge.
I felt like he already knew me and what I needed. I resonated with him and vice versa.
Do you resonate with your audience or they with you?
Do you make them feel like their issues and solving their problems is all that matters?
What I Discovered About My “Shiny Object Problem”
That conversation changed everything because my guide didn’t just teach me affiliate marketing.
He helped me see that my biggest struggle—the shiny object syndrome, the inability to commit, the constant second-guessing—was actually my hidden expertise.
Think about it:
If YOU struggle with something, there are thousands of others struggling with the exact same thing RIGHT NOW.
And they would pay you to help them solve it.
This is the insight that most people miss when they’re trying to start online:
You don’t need to be the world’s leading expert. You just need to be a few steps ahead of someone who’s struggling right where you used to struggle.
Your “Unfair Advantage” Is Hiding in Your Pain
Here’s the truth that will set you free:
The thing you find “obvious” now (because you’ve solved it) is invisible magic to someone still stuck in that problem.
Your past pain is someone’s current prison.
Let me give you the framework I wish someone had given me:
The Quick-Find Exercise:
Ask yourself these three questions (write down the FIRST thing that comes to mind):
- What do people constantly ask you for help with?
- Even casually: “How do you stay focused?” or “How did you finally commit to one business idea?”
- What’s something you struggled with for years but finally figured out?
- Your breakthrough moment is worth money to someone still in the struggle
- What do you find absurdly easy that you’ve watched others struggle with?
- This is often invisible to you because it feels “obvious”
The intersection of these three questions is your micro-expertise sweet spot.
For me, it was helping people with shiny object syndrome—people who keep starting and stopping, who can’t commit, who are paralyzed by too many options.
Sound familiar?
Introducing: The Shiny Object Audit
Here’s the simplest, most profitable service you can offer starting TODAY:
A 30-45 minute consultation where you help someone:
- Identify all the “shiny objects” distracting them
- Audit their current business attempts
- Choose ONE path to commit to for the next 90 days
- Create a simple action plan to stay focused
Charge: $100-150 Delivery time: Same day or next day Tools needed: Zoom (free), PayPal or Stripe (free to set up)
Why this works:
✅ Urgency: People are losing time and money RIGHT NOW from distraction
✅ Quick win: They walk away with clarity and a plan
✅ Repeatable: You can do 3-5 of these per week
✅ Low barrier: No website, no email list, no complicated funnel needed
The $100 First-Day Challenge: Your 4-Hour Blueprint
Alright, here’s where theory becomes action.
I’m going to walk you through exactly how to land your first client and make $100-150 in the next 24 hours.
No fluff. No “build your brand first.” Just results.
Total time needed: 4 hours
HOUR 1: Craft Your Irresistible Offer
You need three things:
1. A Clear Problem Statement
Write this down (fill in the blanks):
“I help [specific type of person] who struggle with [specific pain point] to [specific outcome] in [specific timeframe].”
Examples:
- “I help online entrepreneurs who struggle with shiny object syndrome to choose ONE business path and commit to it for 90 days.”
- “I help new coaches who have 5 different program ideas to pick the ONE offer that will actually sell.”
- “I help content creators who start 10 projects but finish none to focus their energy and ship something.”
2. Your Offer Name
Keep it simple and benefit-focused:
- “The Focus Audit”
- “The Shiny Object Detox”
- “The Commitment Strategy Session”
- “The ONE Path Clarity Call”
3. Your Offer Description (The “What You Get”)
Use this template:
[YOUR OFFER NAME]
What you get:
- 45-minute private video call
- Audit of all your current projects/ideas
- Clear recommendation on which ONE to pursue
- 90-day focus plan
- Email summary of our call
Investment: $100
Delivered within: 48 hours of payment
Perfect for: [Your ideal client description]
Write this in a Google Doc. That’s it. No fancy website needed yet.
HOUR 2: Create Your Simple “Landing Page”
You have two options:
Option A: The Free Route (Google Doc)
- Take your offer description from Hour 1
- Add a short personal story (2-3 paragraphs about YOUR shiny object struggle)
- Add 3-5 bullet points of what they’ll walk away with
- Add your payment link (PayPal.me/yourname or Stripe payment link)
- Add your email or calendar booking link
- Share the Google Doc as “Anyone with the link can view”
Option B: The $19 Route (Carrd.co)
- Sign up for Carrd ($19/year)
- Use their “Profile” template
- Add your offer headline
- Your story (3 paragraphs)
- What they get (bullet points)
- Payment button
- Publish
Either option works. I’ve closed clients with both.
The goal isn’t perfection. The goal is functional and fast.
HOUR 3: Find Your First 3 Prospects (The “Where”)
This is where most people freeze. They think, “Who would pay ME for this?”
Answer: People actively talking about the problem you solve.
Here are the 3 places to find them TODAY:
Place #1: Facebook Groups (30 minutes)
Search for groups related to:
- “Online business beginners”
- “Side hustle”
- “Entrepreneur support”
- “Digital marketing newbies”
Look for posts where people say things like:
- “I keep starting things but never finish”
- “I have so many ideas I don’t know where to start”
- “I bought 10 courses and still haven’t made money”
- “How do I choose which business idea to focus on?”
Comment with value first:
- “I used to struggle with this exact thing! Here’s what helped me…”
- Then (important): “I actually help people with this now. Would a quick clarity call be helpful?”
Place #2: Reddit (20 minutes)
Subreddits:
- r/Entrepreneur
- r/smallbusiness
- r/SideProject
- r/digitalnomad
Search for keywords: “can’t focus,” “too many ideas,” “analysis paralysis”
Same approach: Value first, soft offer second.
Place #3: LinkedIn (10 minutes)
Search posts with hashtags:
- #entrepreneurship
- #solopreneur
- #sidehustle
Comment on posts where people are expressing frustration about lack of focus.
Pro tip: After providing value in your comment, send them a DM:
“Hey [Name], saw your post about [problem]. I actually specialize in helping people get unstuck from shiny object syndrome. Would a quick 15-min call be helpful? No charge, just want to help.”
Some will say yes. THAT’S when you transition to your paid offer during the call.
HOUR 4: Make The Ask & Close (The “How”)
You’ve found people struggling with your exact problem. You’ve offered value. Now what?
The Transition Script (Use This Verbatim):
“So here’s what I’m seeing: You’re dealing with [their specific situation]. This is actually exactly what I help people with through my [Offer Name].
It’s a 45-minute strategy session where we audit everything you’re juggling and I help you pick the ONE thing to focus on for the next 90 days, plus give you a simple plan to stay on track.
I normally charge $150 for this, but since we’re already talking, I can do it for $100 if you’re interested in booking this week.
Would that be helpful?”
When they say “Maybe” or “I need to think about it”:
“Totally understand. Quick question: What’s held you back from getting this kind of clarity before?”
(Let them talk. Usually they’ll reveal the REAL objection.)
Common objections & responses:
“I can’t afford it right now” → “I get it. Here’s my question: How much is staying stuck costing you? In time? In money spent on things you don’t finish? Most people realize they’ve spent way more than $100 spinning their wheels.”
“How do I know this will work?” → “Fair question. Here’s what I can promise: You’ll walk away with absolute clarity on what to focus on and why. Whether you follow through is up to you, but at least you won’t be confused anymore. And honestly, if you don’t feel like you got $100 worth of value, just tell me and I’ll refund you.”
“Can I think about it?” → “Of course. But can I ask—what specifically do you need to think about? Because if you have questions, I’d rather answer them now than have you sitting with uncertainty.”
When they say YES:
“Amazing! I’ll send you my payment link. Once that’s processed, you’ll get a calendar link to book your session. Looking forward to helping you get clarity!”
The Proof Strategy: Your “I DID IT” Moment
This is where most people fumble the ball.
You make your first sale, you deliver great value, and then… nothing. You don’t document it. You don’t share it. You don’t leverage it.
Here’s what you MUST do:
Immediately After Your First Sale:
1. Screenshot the payment notification
- PayPal receipt
- Stripe notification
- Whatever proves money moved
2. Write down how you feel
- Literally: “Holy shit, someone just paid me $100 for MY knowledge”
- This emotion is GOLD for your future content
3. Send a follow-up to your client
- “Just wanted to check in—how are you feeling about our session?”
- Ask for a testimonial (most will happily give one)
24 Hours After Delivery:
Share your win (WITHOUT being obnoxious):
Post on social media:
“Update: Yesterday I had my first client pay me $100 for a strategy call.
Why am I sharing this?
Because 6 months ago, I was stuck in shiny object syndrome myself. I didn’t think I had anything valuable to offer.
Turns out, the thing I struggled with most is the exact thing other people need help with.
If you’re sitting on knowledge you think is ‘too obvious’ or ‘not special enough’—this is your sign. Someone needs exactly what you know.
And they’ll pay you for it.”
This does three things:
- Proves it works (social proof for skeptics reading your stuff)
- Inspires others (creates evangelists who share your content)
- Attracts more clients (people will DM you asking how they can do the same)
What to Do With Your First $100
This is important.
Your first $100 isn’t just money. It’s validation.
It’s proof that:
- Your knowledge has value
- People will pay you for it
- You can do this
Here’s what I recommend:
Reinvest 50% immediately:
- Better tools (Calendly, better landing page, etc.)
- A simple ad to reach more people
- A course or book to sharpen your skills
Celebrate 25%:
- Seriously. Take yourself out for a nice meal
- Buy something small that makes you happy
- You earned this
Save 25%:
- Emergency fund for your business
- Buffer for slow weeks
Most importantly: Do it again.
Book your second client. Then your third.
By client #5, you’ll have refined your process so much that you could do this in your sleep.
By client #10, you’ll have enough testimonials to raise your price to $200.
By client #20, you’ll have proven a business model that actually works.
The Part Where I Challenge You
Here’s where most people stop.
They read this. They think, “Wow, that’s a great idea.”
And then they do… nothing.
They go back to:
- Scrolling for more “secrets”
- Buying another course
- Waiting for the “perfect” moment
- Convincing themselves they need more time
So my question to you is this:
Are you ready? Are you serious? Have you had enough?
Do you desire transformation?
Are you prepared to do what it takes?
I can help you. In fact, let me help you.
It is not my desire to waste your time or mine.
And I wouldn’t be here sharing with you if I didn’t think you have the potential.
Take The Challenge (Right Now)
Here’s what I want you to do in the next 4 hours:
✅ Hour 1: Define your micro-expertise and write your offer (use the templates above)
✅ Hour 2: Create your simple landing page or Google Doc
✅ Hour 3: Find 3 people actively struggling with your problem and offer value
✅ Hour 4: Make your offer to at least 1 person
Then come back here and comment: #IDIDIT
I want to see your wins. I want to celebrate with you. I want proof that this works.
Because it does.
I did it. And I know you can as well.
Final Thoughts: This Could Be Your Reality
That photo I mentioned at the beginning—me on the beach, living life on my own terms?
That didn’t happen because I was special.
It didn’t happen because I had some secret knowledge nobody else had.
It happened because I committed to ONE path and followed through.
It happened because I stopped hopping around looking for the “perfect” strategy and started executing on a GOOD strategy.
It happened because I realized that my struggle—the very thing I was ashamed of—was actually my greatest asset.
Your struggle is your story.
Your story is your offer.
Your offer is your first $100.
And your first $100 is proof that you can build something real.
So…
Are you ready?
Take the challenge.
Do the work.
Then come back and tell me: #IDIDIT
To your future success,
David Jones
P.S. — If you’re sitting here thinking, “But David, I still don’t know what my expertise is” or “I don’t know how to find my first client”…
That’s exactly the problem I help people solve. You’re welcome to reach out. But honestly? Everything you need is in this post.
The only question is: Will you actually do it?
SHARE THIS POST if you know someone who needs to hear this message. Someone who’s stuck. Someone who’s been hopping from idea to idea. Someone who thinks they have nothing to offer.
They need to see this.
And who knows—maybe in 24 hours, they’ll be commenting #IDIDIT too.
